Jim Rout retired in 2021 as president and CEO of BankTennessee after 11 years of service. He is also a former Shelby County Mayor and Shelby County Commissioner. The Rout Center for Women and Newborns at Regional One Health named in his honor. He serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees for WKNO TV/FM, the public broadcasting voice for the Mid-South community.
He is also the former president for the Memphis Rotary Club and the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Jim has received numerous community-service awards including the Distinguished Alumni Award from University of Memphis and the 2009 Citizen of Year from the Respect for Law Committee, Optimist International. He received the Tennessee Republican Party Statesman of the Year Award in 2014.
